About Us

The Beginning

It all started in South Western Ontario in the 1970's.  My Dad, Don, needed a utility trailer and his friend Ken helped him build one with an axel from a car.

After several years of driving in the trucking industry and moving north to Muskoka, my Dad decided to start his own trailer building company!

In 1983 Arctic Trailers was born!

33 Years Experienced!

You learn a lot in 33 years; Along the way my Dad made changes to changes and custom built; it was getting difficult to keep stock with a little piece of property and the orders for more and more trailers.

The amazing thing....My Dad never advertised! He made his living on "word of mouth".

In 1991 Dad relocated to the Kawartha Lakes region.  He started building ATV trailers, car haulers and dump trailers!  He had to hire help and kept on building.

Now it's time for Dad to retire and enjoy his hobbies, but he will always be around for advice and expertise.

The Tradition Continues

In the 33 years Dad has been in the trailer business, I was always there to lend a helping hand.

I knew one day that I would most likely take over his company.  I just wasn't sure when.

In 2013,  the inevitable happened, but Dad just didn't want to quit.  He is still a big part of the business, but he has stepped back to let me take the wheel.

There will be changes, for example a new name "Arctic Son Trailers" and of course this website, but the quality and workmanship will stay the same!

Looking forward to seeing you!
